  • August 11, Saturday, 1:00-3:00 PM—Bill Martinus will lead us through a private, small vineyard and the wine making process.  This facility tour will include a free wine tasting!  He will talk about the history and botany of grapes, wine, and wine making.  The location will be about 5 miles north of Holland.  15448 Quincy St, Holland MI 49424

  • August 25, Saturday, 11:00 AM. Our WPC members are invited to attend this field trip with the Southwest Chapter which will be led by Bill Martinus.  He will take us to the Allegan State Game Area and go along the Kalamazoo River on an excellent, very scenic trail of about 2 miles. Meet on 130th Ave, about 1/10 mile west of M40, approximately 4500  130th St, Hamilton MI 49419.

  • September 15, Saturday, 10:00 AM-Noon.  Chip Schaddelee and Bill Martinus will lead us on a special botanical field trip to the Allegan State Nature Area.  You may be sure to see many unusual plants, trees and wildlife with these two remarkable botanists. 

  • September 29, Saturday, All Day—Huron Valley Chapter will host the Mini-Foray at the Eddy Discovery Center at Waterloo State Recreational Area.  MBC State Board Meeting begins at 8:00 am, followed by a luncheon and afternoon program and trips.  More information will be in the fall issue of The Arisaema. 

  • October 20, Saturday, 2:00-4:00 PM GVSU Ontario Hall Room 164—The MBC Big Tree Program Coordinator, Ted Reuschel, will speak about the MBC Big Tree Program.  He will use photos during the presentation to show many of the big trees in Michigan.  You will learn a lot about how he measures these trees.  He will come from Lansing to speak to us, so be sure to come meet him. 

  • November 17, Saturday, 2:00-4:00 pm GVSU Ontario Hall, Room 164—Sarah Pregitzer and Randy Butters have a longstanding interest in environmental causes.  They have a brand-new illustrated program, but the details are not ready.

  • Unless otherwise noted, meetings start at 2:00 pm and are held at  Grand Valley State University, Allendale, MI.
