The White Pine Chapter welcomes you to the Spring Lake and Grand Haven area in the heart of the west Michigan coastline, a popular tourist destination for Michigan residents and tourists from all over the world, and home of some of the finest beaches in the world. This scenic and ecologically rich area centers around the confluence of the Grand River at Lake Michigan, with its many lakes, streams, bayous, dunes, marshes, and forests.

Blessed with numerous parks, preserves, and public natural areas, we won't have to travel far for any of our field trips. With several colleges and universities in the area, and many active environmental clubs, local experts are readily available to lead and interpret the diverse ecosystems here. Our evening speakers include Ed Post and his breathtaking nature photography, renowned author and botanist Gerould Wilhem, and Mike Kost, an expert ecologist from the Michigan Natural Features Inventory.

The Spring Lake Holiday Inn on the Grand River waterfront will be our headquarters for the weekend, with newly renovated rooms, a special discounted price negotiated just for MBC members, and the award-winning cuisine of Jack's Restaurant.

Deadline for registration is April 26th, and participants must make their own hotel reservations, so don't delay in signing up for this very special weekend. The White Pine Chapter looks forward to seeing all of you!
